The concierge at our hotel recommended this restaurant when my husband inquired as to where we could get a good steak. We had reservations (it was a Saturday night) and even with the reservation we ended up waiting at the bar for about 15-20 minutes but it was extremely busy. The food was excellent but I can honestly say it was not the best steak I have ever eaten. The best I have had thus far has been at Sparks Steakhouse in New York City. Our server was a very nice, smiling woman, but we had to flag her down several times to get refills on our drinks, etc. Don't get me wrong, the food was very, very good and the restaurant was very nice, but I felt for the price the service was not up to standard overall. But having said that I would go again, but not with such high expectations.
Pros: Lovely setting, good food
Cons: Wait even with reservation, service was sort of shoddy

Granted, this is a very good restaurant. The steaks are very good, but no better than a lot of other steak restaurants. But it has gotten way too expensive. The owners of this restaurants have many ads on t.v. They would be better off if they reduced the number of t.v. ads and charged less for their food. They would have more patrons that way. It is a well known restaurant, and none of the locals go there any more because of the too-high prices. The last reviewer says it is worth the price. I disagree. $200 for a steak dinner and some wine for 2 is too expensive.

This was the best steak dinner I have had in a long time. I travel for a living and have tried many big name steak houses. None compare to the great steak i had at L G's. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. I highly recommend a massage, a quick shower, and then head there for dinner. Just the best end to a fantastic day in Palm Desert.

The hosts/hostesses are rude at times. There is a preferential attitude during high season. The food is average compared to restaurants with similar fare. The serving staff is excellent. I would rate about 5-6 restaurants with similar fare in comparison to LG's. There is no value in pricing compared to the others either.
