Great movie kids loved it and its 2 hrs and 15 min great time to relax and enjoy the time with the kids. Just know it's a kids movie not designed to really entertain adults without kids. If you don't have kids go make some, then go to this movie.

Pros: Nice car with great crashes

Great Summer Movie for Kids... Sort of... It is for older elementary age kids. If your son loves race cars and you take him because he begs and begs... BE PREPARED... You may not like it, but it is fun to watch your kids get excited... It teaches kindergarten children how to flip someone off. It was supposed to be a funny part, so obviously they would want to replay the moment.. Other than that part that could have been left out, it was great!!!

Pros: Cute & Great Family Movie overall!

Cons: Watch out for the BIRD. Your kids will be doing it. Or Try ONCE!!

Oh my goodness. What a bad movie? My boyfriend and I sat in the theatre kicking ourselves in the rear for choosing such a bad movie. I fell asleep through some of it. Granted some of the action scenes were pretty cool....but it was like a mix of "the flinstones" movie and "the Jetsons" cartoon . It was horrible. Wait for it on video....better yet, wait until it comes out in cable. Do not waste your money. So not worth it. The acting was very fake and robot like. It felt like every word was timed. Bad!!! Bad!!! Bad!!!!

Pros: Cool action and visual effects

I knew it would be a great summer for movies when I found out months ago that Speed Racer was coming out. I think everyone expected it to be one of those genuinely bad movies that we go to see for nothing more than the special effects. The effects did turn out to be ncredible, and yes, the story was corny and alltogether following the cheese ball plot of the old series. Altogether it was silly enough for kids to enjoy and clever enough for all us anime fans to appreciate. Awesome movie.

Pros: clever, funny and action packed, also an incredible cast.

Usually when a rating says "language" for a pg movie I don't expect it to actually be cussing but they cuss many times throughout the movie. The movie was a little boring in places too.

Great movie for kids and adults who remember the cartoon. The movie had a great story line, good acting and great special effects. Not much fighting except during the driving scenes and a lot of the story was kept simple for young kids to follow. I would have liked more interaction between speed racer and his girl friend, but that's because I'm an adult. Some parts were goofy with the youngest brother and the monkey, but again that's more for young kids. Taking that into account, I definitely would recommend it for anyone who has kids. Thoroughly entertaining.

Enjoyed the film. It was very entertaining. Great to see Susan Sarandon and John Goodman teamed up. Emile Hirsch is absolutely adorable!!! I look to see more from this up an coming young actor! Great family film full of fast car excitement!

Pros: Bright and happy graphics

The critics that call themselves professional got this one all wrong. This is a fun film for little kids, and old kids who remember the original series. From the words GO SPEED RACER this high-speed adventure is an immersion into the comic book personification ~ made dazzlingly real and fever-pitched in a way that honors both the genre and the subject! The casting is nearly rock-solid, the acting never seemed tired, or the scripts trite; it was pretty well spot on. The direction did have a touch of slack now and then relative to the pacing, however ~ this is a story about racing, about adrenalin, about heart-pumping non-stop high-energy precision driving, and the overheated competing egos, er... evils that have us guessing around each lap and passed the checkered flag. The villainy is devilish, the humor is perfectly aped, the romance is anticipated, and the urge to win is never greater! I laughed and cheered along with my audience; Marvel has done it again! GO SPEED RACER!

Pros: Dazzling special effects, good tension with well-placed humor, devious villains

Cons: Occasional slackness and odd cropping

This is just what I have been waiting for since I was a kid in the 70's. Great casting, I cannot even think of a better cast. They got the gist of the cartoon and transported it to the 00's. Simply the best movie I have seen in a while, although I maybe the wrong person to ask as I love Speed Racer! I cannot wait till the sequel comes out and I am surely going to see this one in an I-Max theater. I tried to see this at the Tribeca Film Festival, but both shows were sold out. Enjoy, fun for us old timers (42) and I sure would love it as a kid.
