The Scene
Many primped and preened Angelenos happily spend weeks on a waiting list to pay top dollar for a massage at the city's most exclusive spas--and then there's the rest of us. With its mom-and-pop exterior and mural-painted interior, Brooks is definitely not the most luxurious place in town; however, in-the-know locals have embraced its non-pretentious atmosphere and no-nonsense massages since the early '50s.
The Services
Available by the half or full hour, these slow, relaxing massages prove that babbling fountains and New-Age Muzak are not crucial elements for massage nirvana. Sure, the layout is not exactly Zen-like (talking can be heard through the walls), but the skill of the masseurs, the serenity of a natural-rock eucalyptus steam room and the reasonable prices are enough to put even the most stressed-out client at ease.

Know Before You GoThough Brooks' does accept appointments, plenty of massage therapists are on hand to care for stiff-necked walk-ins.
Save MoneyMonday through Friday, 10am-3pm, half-hour massages are $10 off, and full-hour massages are discounted by $15.

as many other reviewers state, you just can't beat brooks on price and quality of services. i want to add that i've been going for the past several years and always leave feeling terrific. will is the absolute best: intuitive, strong and very thorough, and uses a variety of techniques. i always book an hour with will and even that seems insufficient, he is that good. for a superb deep tissue sports massage, yuri and andre can't be beat. the facilities are small but clean and quite frankly, i like brooks much better than burke williams and the fancier places because i like getting massages regularly and frequently. brooks delivers on consistency and value. i highly recommend.

This place is really great. They were so nice and the service was outstanding. Only thing is I had trouble with parking.
